Περιγραφή - Hostel

Historic property built by Siamese Lady as her residence. This building has had a checkered history. It was rebuilt in 1998 after a fire destroyed the building in 1984. The Local Government wanted the building demolished. The owners resisted and we have an interesting building today. It would be of interest for students of history and architecture to research this building. In this three storey building are housed beside the hostel, a cafe, an artifact/antique shop, a small vernacular museum providing a glimpse of who were and how did the people of yesteryears lived, the rooftop with a fantastic view of the hills.

This hostel is in the buffer zone of the World Heritage Site. It is within walking distance to all these locations of interest. We have bicycles for rental to guests at very reasonable price.

There are a lot of space in the hostel for relaxing and moving about. It is very cool and naturally ventilated. The rooms are unique in design and reflect the local domestic sleeping habits. The building has a rooftop with a fantasic view of the hills.

Πώς να πάτε εκεί

Most buses arrive at the main terminal at KOMTAR (the tallest building in a world heritage site, more than 40 storeys high). It is about five mins walk to Lebuh Cintra. From the airport the best bet is use the taxi. Local buses are available. Bus no. from Airport is 102. Tell the bus driver KOMTAR. He will let you off there. Then walk through Jalan Ria into Jalan Sungei Ujong and finally into Lebuh Cintra in a straight line direction.

Besides buses from other cities there are the dedicated ferries from Sumatra, and Langkawi. Trains from Kuala Lumpur will arrive on the mainland, crossing to the Island is by the local ferry service, this is an experience all should try.

Κοντινότερο αεροδρόμιο: At Bayan Baru at the southern tip of the island. It is about 25km from city centre.
